Information on violation Cease-fire regime by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia for the period from January to September of 2007.

The Armenian Armed Forces have been continuing to violate the cease-fire regime, established in May 1994, on the line of contact between the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia fired upon Azerbaijani positions 397 times during from January to September 2007, including 7 times in January, 5 times in February, 10 times in March, 15 times in April 2007, 17 times in May, 20 times in June, 31 times in July, 165 times in August, 127  times in September. The Azerbaijani side was subjected to machine-gun fire from the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as from the Armenian territory.

The violations of the ceasefire regime from the Armenian side have led to numerous casualties in the Azerbaijani side, both in the Army and among the civilian population. Among them 14 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed and 29 Azerbaijani soldiers were wounded.

In spite of the fact  that in 1993 the UN Security Council adopted four resolutions (NN 822,853, 874, 884) on the conflict in which it confirmed the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the inviolability of its international borders and the inadmissibility of the use of force for territorial acquisitions. In these resolutions the Security Council condemned the seizure of territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan and demanded the immediate, full and unconditional withdrawal of occupying forces from all occupied territories. However, Armenia continues to challenge the international community by ignoring of resolutions. Moreover, Republic of Armenia in order to consolidate of outcomes of the aggression against our country has created in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan the puppet regime, which is called «Nagorno-Karabakh Republic».

The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan proceeds from the position that till the conflict is settled on the basis of the international legal norms and priniciples, in particular on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is restored as well as refugees and displaced persons return to their areas of origin, the cooperation with Armenia in all spheres both on bilateral and multilateral level is excluded.
